BUCKLEY SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. – The Colorado Air National Guard will conduct night flying operations throughout the month of August.

Evening flying operations should end no later than 9 p.m.

Anticipated evenings flown should not exceed 10 times during the month.

“The 120th Fighter Squadron must be prepared to execute our federal mission at night in any weather condition,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Kurt Tongren, the 140th Operation Group Commander. “Night flying proficiency is a critical component of our training, especially as we prepare for a deployment next year.”

The 140th Wing will have a reduced daily flying operation Aug. 7-21, due to a training operation that the Wing is conducting out of state at that time, however, evening flights will likely still occur during this period.

Airmen of the 140th Wing are required to conduct night operations to meet U.S. Air Force and Major Command requirements and proficiencies.
